2019 Annual General and Scientific Meeting
The Australasian Gastrointestinal Pathology Society’s 5th annual scientific meeting was held in Adelaide on Friday the 25th and Saturday the 26th October at the Adelaide University medical school. The meeting was sponsored and supported by Cook Medical, the University of Adelaide and SA Pathology.
The international, highly regarded guest speakers, Prof Rish Pai from the Mayo Clinic, Scottsdale, Arizona and Prof Gregory Lauwers from the Moffitt Cancer Centre, Florida, spoke on a range of topics in gastrointestinal pathology.
The meeting was well regarded with the leading local authorities in GI pathology contributing to stimulating discussions on diverse topics. It was a tremendous success, with 125 pathologists from Australia and New Zealand attending.
In recognition of his enormous contribution to gastrointestinal and hepatic pathology in Australasia, Professor Prithi Bhathal was presented with Distinguished GI Pathologist Award.
